Creating a Destination

Investment in Ancram Center for the Arts and our future is also an investment in the revitalization of the hamlet of Ancram, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This project embodies our belief that a vibrant, accessible, multi-purpose venue with welcoming outdoor and indoor spaces will contribute to a lively Ancram hamlet for years to come. The following steps are integral to that vision:

Rendering of porch and common area between buildings.

• Before the Ancram Center for the Arts can become a reality, major renovations of the Annex property are needed. This will encompass exterior restoration in keeping with the building’s historic character; structural stabilization; new roof, windows, siding, basement waterproofing, and other enveloping elements; all new mechanical and electrical systems; all new interior finishes.

•Our current office on the main floor of the Opera House will be converted into an ADA compliant restroom. Ramps, other walkways, and approaches will be designed to provide improved accessibility on the new campus.

• Last, but not least, the project will address and improve our parking!

The Ancram Opera House has added so much value to our small town.
It has enlivened the region
and provided a needed spark to the creative vitality of Ancram!
