Ancram Center for the Arts holds classes in Acting and Voice throughout the year, taught by Paul Ricciardi, Ancram Center co-director and recipient of the 2018 Kennedy Center National Teaching Artist Award.  Certain courses are tailored for professionals, while others are geared for students of all levels, including those with no prior experience. Every student receives a training plan that is based on their experience, ability level and need.

Crafting the Monologue is designed for both the professional actor and people who are simply curious about acting technique. In this workshop, participants will learn how to approach preparing a monologue for audition or performance. Students will participate in a final showing on Nov. 22.

For these classes, participants should dress comfortably in loose fitting clothing, such as sweat pants.

Here is what Ancram Center students are saying about Paul:

MC Stockl, Communications Consultant: “Thank you for a wonderful experience. I don't know which I enjoyed most: your thoughtful guiding through the [Linklater Voice] progression, the use of images that resonated, or how you brought out the best in each of the amazing people in the voice workshop.  You have a new fan!”

Marilyn Oser, Author: “Paul is a luminous teacher--generous, animated, wholehearted, irresistible. I had fun, learned a lot and met some great people.”
